Introduction

Heyyy,
For my extended project i have created Jump Love as you probably can tell is a stop motion project using photos and music.I chose to combine my love of making films and photography. Using cameras and different effects on cameras are definitely a hobby of mine, i enjoy creating a storie. Alongside my product i am making a portfolio on different types of stop motion photography whilst also reviewing videos made.

  1. 1. The stop-motion concept gives a really unique feel to what would otherwise be just a standard generic short film. As is, the film demands constant attention, and is not disappointed. It's a very unusual spin on filmmaking.

    2. Unlike most short love films (which I generally avoid out of preference), the show-stealing stop-motion is the core of the film, meaning it can appeal to practically anyone.

    3. The stop-motion. It works very well, as its creative flair and unusualness keeps the viewer's attention all the way through.

    4. The audio. The lack of any sound other than music is very fitting, and music itself is nigh-perfect considering the context and concept. However, the way the audio fades in, and in particular out, isn't particularly well done. The intro fade isn't very bad, but sounds a little forced. The outro is very sudden, and detracts from the experience of the film. This needs changing, perhaps extending the fade throughout the credits so that it finishes softly.

    5. I find the project aesthetically pleasing, with fitting music, a bold concept, good timing and a well-executed incidental story. One of the best short films I've seen since I came to Confetti. But please fix the music.

    6. I don't think I've seen a short film do this snapshot-style well before, if at all. It has a likably-brash approach that appeals to most people.

    Good job

  2. Question #1
What aspects do you like most about my product?

I like that you're doing a stop motion video by using stills which can make a video more interesting than filming on a video camera.

    Question #2
Who do you think would enjoy this product and why?

I think people who are fans of stop motion videos will enjoy this video, simply because they enjoy watching stop motions videos. Also people who like Cat's facial expressions because they are quite funny, plus people who like love stories because this video is a classic boy meets girl story.

    Question #3
What aspects of my product do you think are effective and why?

I think that you are using photos to create the story is effective because it makes the video more interesting whereas if this was filmed on a video camera it would be pretty boring.

    Question #4
What aspects of my product do you think need further development?

I think maybe you could of used a tripod so when each picture/frame is shown only Cat and Ben are moving and the background or camera position doesn't move. Just my opinion though, it may have worked better it may have not.

    Question #5
What is your personal overall opinion of my artefact?

I like your artefact and think it's quite interesting, that you're using pictures and sound to create a narrative story.

    Question #6
Why do you think my artefact would or would not be a success?

I think your artefact would be successful because it is pretty unique because I have hardly seen a video with a narrative that has been put together using pictures, sound and no dialogue.

  3. The aspect of your project like the most about is that is unquie and the how its been edited.

I think that young female girls would enjoy this project or anyone who else finds stop motion interesting.

The acpects of your product i find are effective are the fact you have used stop motion as your product and the music goes well with the images.

I don't much needs more furthur development as it is a well persented prodcut.

My overall personal opinion of your artefact is that it is well done, i like how it is stop motion and the music you have used, and the layout of it.

I think it would be successful as it something different and also that the way it's end edited and the images put together and also the music works very well with each other given it a balance.

  4. I haven't seen much of this style of filming before and therefor enjoyed it. The only criticism I would make would be that when the girl was walking, it seemed a little too jumpy. Other than that, I think it is an effective product with a wide target audience and I could see it being succesful with it being so different to what many people will have experienced in the film world.
